How do I set WRITE permissions on the folder where images are uploaded?

IIS 7.0 and higher

IIS 6.0 and earlier
IIS 7.0
  1. On the server, open Windows Explorer and find the web folder where Affiliate Wiz is installed.
  2. Right Click on the ads or ChartImages folder and select Properties.
     
  3. Choose the 'Security' tab form the dialog box window.
  4. Highlight the account called Users.
  5. Now click the Edit button.
  6. In the window that appears make sure Users is selected then at the botton check of WRITE in addition to the default permissions.
  7. Repeat the same procedure for the "ChartImages" folder by repeating steps 1-6.
  8. Complete the import security setting below. 

    Important Security Note: We recommend that you turn off Execute permissions on the Ads and ChartImages  folders.  To do so...

  1. Open Internet Information Services (IIS).
  2. Expand the web site on the left hand side.
  3. Find the folder and click on it (Ads, ChartImages)
  4. Now Double Click on Handler Mappings.

     
  5. On the right side, click on Edit Feature Permissions

     
  6. In the box that appears uncheck all but "Read" permissions.
  7. Repeat the same process for the remaining folder (Ads or ChartImages.

 

IIS 6.0
  1. On the server, open Windows Explorer and find the web folder where Affiliate Wiz is installed.
  2. Right Click on the Ads folder and select Properties.
  3. Choose the 'Security' tab form the dialog box window.
  4. Click the Advanced button then Uncheck 'Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to this object', from the bottom of the dialog box.  Click OK.
  5. Find the ASP.NET user and give them WRITE permissions in addition to the default permissions.
  6. Now, find the account called USERS and give them WRITE permissions as well.
  7. Complete the import security setting below.
     

    Important Security Note: We recommend that you turn off Execute permissions on this folder.  To do so, find the /ads/ folder in Internet Information Services Manager (IIS) and change the ads folder and set Execute Permissions to None as shown below. 


     

  8. Repeat the same steps for the "ChartImages" folder.
